Thematic Design International (TDI), a division of New England Design, Inc., was created to provide concept and design management services for large scale resort, hospitality and retail projects. The conceptual design process provides an initial visual translation of a client’s ideas or program which allows them to present the project to investors, boards and committees and even government agencies where required. This initial design phase is often critical for a project to gain the necessary support to move forward to the next phase of development. As a project moves forward NED/TDI will often remain involved as a design manager, insuring that the finished product maintains the client’s original vision. NED/TDI’s expertise and success lies in our ability to create dramatic design formats and our ability to work closely with entire project teams, including project architects and engineers, to insure unified, successful projects, that can be built within budget. From the Kiss Coffeehouse to Foxwoods Resort Casino we take pride in producing great designs while maintaining realistic construction budgets.

Foxwoods Resorts was conceptually designed by NED/TDI over a 15 year period with an intense involvement in all phases from initial formats, master planning, design management, concept interior and exterior design, graphics and FF & E. Working with resort management, the Tribal Council, architects, engineers and consultants, NED/TDI has been responsible for over 4 million square feet of space at a cost of $1.5 billion.

NED/TDI was also the conceptual designer for the proposed $700 million Bridgeport Casino Complex and designed the first proposed H-Tract project, a $1.5 billion Atlantic City Casino Complex for Steve Wynn of Mirage Resorts. Other master planning and concept designs have been done in Niagara Falls and Windsor, Canada, Ireland, Las Vegas and Pennsylvania.

Regardless of your project type or size, NED/TDI can assemble a talented design team that suits your needs and can bring your vision to life. We have worked successfully with many large architectural firms, construction management firms and developers, and often work with design consultant Nick606, Inc., who over the years has been an integral part of our resort and restaurant design team.
