New England Design, Inc. was formed forty years ago by Kevin Tubridy as a small personalized design firm. Since that time, our talented team has produced diverse design solutions for a wide variety of projects, including oceanfront vacation homes, restaurants, and child development centers. We create unique and innovative design solutions that are contextually appropriate and that maintain familiar proportions and scale. We are committed to providing our clients with creative, practical and energy efficient designs, as well as making the entire design process inclusive and enjoyable.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of our practice is the design of single family homes. We take great pride in our ability to collaborate with residential clients and translate their lifestyles, personal tastes and ideas into functional, beautiful spaces. Designing a home is a great deal more than translating ideas into floor plans and building elevations. It requires being good listeners and gaining a clear understanding of what a client really wants. It is the ability to create warm and comfortable spaces that are well proportioned and flow easily together. It is the design of spaces that have a sense of place and appeal to the senses and the psyche. It is the small details like a window seat, a flower box or a perfectly framed view. It is the use of quality materials, sound construction methods and energy efficient building systems. It is all of these things taken together that yield a result that is much greater than the sum of its parts, a home and not just a house.

SERVICES
New England Design, Inc. offers a comprehensive range of design services including: site analysis, program development, conceptual/schematic design, interior design and sign/graphic design. Depending on the scope and complexity of the project, we will collaborate with the architectural firm, Karl Norton Architects LLC and other architectural firms in order to provide additional services, including but not limited to: code review, construction documentation, specifications, bidding and negotiating, and construction administration.
